“Life is like baking a cake — it’s the ingredients you put in, and the method you use, that determine the outcome.”

 

I spoke those words on a stage in front of a room full of MPs and councillors over 20 years ago. At the time, I was just 16 years old and had recently founded an award-winning youth project that would go on to receive multiple accolades. Looking back now, that was the first moment I truly felt a sense of purpose. The first time I realised I might actually be capable of creating something meaningful.

 

That experience sparked an obsession with leadership, ambition and building things from nothing. One year later, I opened my first business with a storefront on the high street — something incredibly rare for someone my age and background in my hometown at the time.

 

But my path was far from straightforward.

 

After being excluded from secondary school in Year 8, I left education with no qualifications and very few opportunities. I had to learn quickly how to rely on instinct, resilience and self-belief. Failure, pressure and setbacks became part of the process long before success ever arrived.

 

Fast forward twenty years, and I’ve gone on to build multiple multi-million-pound businesses across several industries from the ground up. Yet despite everything, I still feel like that same young lad with big ideas and an even bigger vision for what’s possible.

 

Most people only ever see the end result. They see the companies, the growth and the success. What they don’t always see are the sacrifices, the setbacks, the sleepless nights and the determination it takes to keep going when things get difficult.

 

CHARC Haus is more than a brand to me. It represents my journey, my mindset and everything I’ve learned along the way — resilience, creativity, ambition and the belief that your starting point never has to define your future.

 

I’ve never really viewed myself as a businessman. Im just a man in business who is simply someone who refused to let circumstances dictate the outcome of my reality. I genuinely believe that with vision, consistency and the willingness to keep getting back up, people are capable of far more than they realise.

 

Because in the end, real character isn’t built during the highs, it’s built in how you respond to the lows.
